Cornwall Squad 2019 Staff team ; I am pleased to announce the following appointments: Emma Reid team manager and Matthew Trewhella head coach (both Truro members). They are now addressing booking pools for training events and swimmer selection in preparation for the inter-county event at Sheffield on October 6th. We need to recruit an assistant team manager, assistant coach and chaperone to complete the team. Please let me know if any of your membership are interested in these roles. a great, enjoyable opportunity to work with achieving swimmers from across Cornwall Please ask interested individuals to email me.
Masters: a number of Cornwall swimmers competed in the British Masters Championships in Swansea last weekend. I have uploaded the results to the ‘Masters’ section of our website. I will now check for any new County Masters LC Records and upload these when done.
AGM : our AGM was held on Tuesday 11th June when our president for 2018/2019 Anne Jolly (Carn Brea/Helston) said that she had enjoyed her term, especially the Intercounty event last October. She thanked everyone for their support. We thank her for everything she has done so brilliantly. We welcome Belinda Caslake (Bude and County Recorder) as our president for 2019/2020 and wish her an enjoyable and valuable year. For President Elect we welcome Jo Greet (St Austell)
I have added the various reports presented to the AGM to our website (Administration section – scroll down). I will add the minutes shortly. I would like to draw your attention to the Welfare Report which is very concerning and ask you all to read this carefully and act accordingly.
Management Board – our next meeting is on Tuesday 16th July, 7:30p.m. Victoria Inn Roche – an agenda will follow. Please ensure that all clubs are represented.
There was a meeting last Friday at County Hall Truro where agenda item 1 was ‘Leisure Services Contracts – GLL, Parkwood’ – this item lasted approx. 75 minutes. I have put a link to the webcast at the top of our website. It is well worth watching, particularly the last part which discusses GLL prices increases and also includes a presentation about the Penzance LC financial arrangements etc.
Open Water : please would those clubs who participate in Open Water activities to refer to the link titled “Registration of Open Water Clubs” at the top of the Open Water section of our website.
Reminder: Open Water Closing date for entries to the South West Open Water Championships in Weymouth on 6th July is midnight Friday 21st June. See Open Water section of our website for more information. Our own junior and senior championships are incorporated in this event.
